Hi guys,

how important is "the energy topic" in your country? And are there serious effords to change to renewable energy sources?

I've heard that there's a global bottleneck in producing solar power cells, as the germans have bought all of them...

I believe biofuels/biogas are getting more important. It's not very expensive, and you get rid of biological waste, which would otherwise go to a landfill and/or pollute water. The gained methane or biofuel usually can be used in conventional ways.

Windpower may have a lage capability at offshore sites. Unfortunately, many people in my home country think that windmills are looking ugly and produce sounds. (well, it's a matter of taste - but modern windmills are really quiet)

Solar heating is widely applied in new builded houses, although photovoltaics is quite seldom at the moment.
The gouvernment has pushed renewable energy sources a little bit, although I believe there's still much more to to.
So far to Germany.

In New Zealand (where I'm currently working on applied biogas production), things are quite different. Lots of electricity is produced by water, however I haven't seen any solar power yet. May be it's because there's more rain here than sun.. petrol is incredible cheap (but still the double price of the USA). No nuclear power plants (lucky guys, these).

Well, it would be really interesting how the situation in your country is, and how you see chances of changing to renewable energy.

Looking forward to hear from you,

Simon

Hallo Simon,

I also think that biofuels/biogas have a great potential, and that are probably a fuels of the future.

In Serbia energy issue unfortunately is not so high prior,
expecialy questions abouth renewable energy sources.

Serbia have a problem with supplying electrical power and becouse of that householders are stimulated to use other energy sourcecs for haeting, and today a lot od households in south Serbia use woods and coals for that.

But there is also positive example of using more and more solar collector on houses for haeting water.
Our last assignment on faculty was to take photos of 15 houses that have instaled solar collector on their house roof, it was not very easy to find them but however I take 17 pics for lees than five hours. Smile

HI all,

I think solar energy have a great potential,i think it will the last way for energy. In the future it must be have to used in all places, right now all automation companies are working on this project, that how to get full result from solar energy and save energy power.

According to me this is the best way for the bright future.
